Tuesday 27th May – Windsurf * River Orwell at Levington – sunny briefly then rain:(

Foil – 16.60 knot max, 14.39 knot ave., 1.23 knot hour, 4.15 knot mile, 13.70 km., 8.90 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Bolt 5.5.

After yesterdays top early windsurf foil I was keen to have another try today so I headed down to The Manor end in Felixstowe at 8.15 in sunshine as the rain was forecast to arrive around midday! Sadly the wind at this point was dead offshore I headed over to Levington which I was not keen to do after Sundays poor session there! I seemed breezy gusting to 24 knots but it looked patchy so I did set up and went for 5.5 which was a huge mistake as it was never big enough but any sail would have been wrong as the wind was horrendously gusty, I did get flying a few times but it wa scrap so I headed ashore, the sun had long disappeared but the wind switched from WSW to SW and seemed to build so I wa tempted out again but it was even worse this time, lumpy, gusty and cloudy so I decided to call it a day, pack up and head for a shower, it was raining by the time I had finished so got lucky there to be off the water! I drove down to The Manor to check the conditions but it looked horrible with the rain not helping! The was an art thing on the beach of loads of flags which I took some pics of and was surprised to get one on Look East, my first pic on the BBC since 19th March!!!!! We then walked around to an old friend for a cuppa and umbrellas were definitely required! I will not be in any hurry to return to Levington as its been poor of late:(
